It takes a little time for your mind to adjust to this as it acts like a vented hearing protection device, so at the 4,000 – 6,000 Hz, you will hear the blast a little louder at the voice range.
You are still fully protected, but your mind has to adjust because it seems louder, and you can still hear voices.

Custom Shooting Hearing Protection (37dB Reduction)
Our Custom Shooters Earplug comes fully loaded with a 37dB Reduction. It has an overall reduction of 37dB, and where we hear voices at 4,000 -6,000 Hz, the earplug only reduces about 15db.
We can achieve this by using a multi-layered silicone material with no filter, which means that no longer does having hearing damage dictate that you have to remove your earplugs to hear the person next to you.
Used in competition shooter in Universities, High School, Gun Clubs, Trap Clubs, Shooting Ranges, all over the US.
These are made for the actual event to be spatially aware and hear voices, and they do take just a bit to get used to.
The sounds of the shots you take will be a little more pronounced at the 4,000-6,000 HTZ range coming through, so it does have an adjustment period. We always recommend you double protect when you can.
