Hear the difference
Press play on a loud room, then switch between the plugs. See exactly how many decibels each one takes off, and hear (and feel) the sensation it produces.
No protection. A loud floor, full force, around 100 dBA.
A simulation of the relative effect, real attenuation depends on your custom fit. Audio plays at a safe, comfortable level; the dBA figures represent real-world loudness.

Our patented, university-developed flat-attenuation earplug. Instead of muffling everything, it turns the whole spectrum down evenly, so speech, music, and alarms stay clear while the harmful energy drops. Swap the filter to set your level: 9, 15, 20, 25, or 30 dB.

Maximum sealed silence. There’s no filter path, the custom shell simply blocks. This is the one for sleep, heavy machinery, or any time you want the most reduction and don’t need to hear in. Nothing to adjust, nothing to think about.

Multi-layered passive silicone with a 37 dB reduction, the highest custom-molded block Big Ear makes. It tames the report while you still catch range commands, with no batteries and nothing to fail. Built for indoor ranges, big-bore, and high-volume shooting.

A custom communications earpiece that pairs hearing protection with your two-way radio. Your crew stays protected on a loud floor and stays in contact, no trading safety for the ability to hear a call. The go-to for teams that live on the radio.

Fair question, and we’ll answer it straight: if you wear plugs twice a year, buy the $30 pair. Custom is for people who wear them all the time, and who have already learned what a bad seal costs.
Nobody has an average ear. A universal plug can only press against your canal, never seal it, so it works loose, it aches after a few hours, and what leaks through the gap is the hearing you don’t get back. Most end up in a drawer.
Molded to the exact shape of your canal, so it seals without pressure and stays sealed, through a shift, a set, a ride, a night. It doesn’t work loose, it doesn’t ache, and it lasts for years, not a season. Divided across that, it costs less than what you keep replacing.
A real family team in Blythewood, SC. We answer fast.
What happens after you pay
A custom set cannot exist until we have the shape of your ears. The kit we send takes a mould every bit as good as one taken in a clinic, it is what most of our customers use, and it is what the lab builds from. If you would rather have it done for you, any audiologist can, or you can visit one of our providers. It costs the same either way.
